DeWitt Rotary – From Pancakes To Community Service
Due to the present public health crisis from Covid- 19 it is with deep regret that our annual Pancake Day will be cancelled again this year. Please consider buying a Spring Basket in it's place.
During these difficult times Rotarians still firmly believe in Service Above Self, and this philosophy is demonstrated through philanthropic work. Every year all net proceeds from Pancake Day are distributed by DeWitt Rotary to local, national, and international charities. Charitable donations range from the small – helping a Scout finance an Eagle project - to the larger - support of the Samaritan Center - to the huge - Rotary International’s effort to wipe out polio around the world. Donations may be one time funding for a specific need and other donations are provided year after year.
Some of our guiding principles include support of:
- Non-profit organizations with far-reaching impact, diverse populations, and a local focus
- Rotary International and district grant programs
- Organizations with which the club has partnered on projects
- Organizations that impact local schools and neighborhoods
- Youth programs through sponsorship of the Rotary Youth Leadership and Youth Exchange programs.
